Mistake with the rankings

Post by Milo Voss »

I noticed that in the Rankings I am listed as coming in 7th place at Crab but in reality I came in 6th. There are two 5th place winners listed and I think that's whats confusing the issue. I would like to get the ranking updated to reflect this. It wont change the personal standings but I need the points man!

I dropped a line to Seano but with the elections coming up, I'm not sure who to yak at.

Hey Milo :)

When there is a tie - the next ranking number is skipped. So a tie for 5th place means there is no 6th place, and the next person is 7.

Thanks for bringing it up.

LOL, well good luck with that - Fight the system man!

That is pretty standard system to use with rankings and finish order - RL, SL, whatever. That's why I did it that way - not just to mess with you ;)

Cool Ciera, no problem at all. :)

I just needed an excuse to bust out that sweet, sweet Hammer move.

WooHoo!

Here's a suggestion from Wilfrid Da Crazy Cannuck... I've been practicing and teaching martial arts in RL for over 20 years and what we do in competetion when there is a tie in kata, (also called paterns in English), for key spots is we make those who tied re-do their kata and then the judges simply do a show of hands instead of using a point system on who the winner is for that spot.

Thanks.

Wil

Nice idea, at the same time, rankings are a temporary placement based on scores. If that were to occur in the final comp of the season, it might be a good idea to consider alternatives; especially if the tie is in the rankings of the top four surfers.
