The SLSA Board of Directors is pleased to announce the creation of the official Second Life Surfing Association Hall of Fame. An idea conceived by Ritch Goalpost out of his love for surfing and as a way of contributing to the Second Life surfing community, the hall will showcase the history of the SLSA as well as recognize outstanding contributions to Second Life surfing and commend exemplary accomplishments of individual surfers.

As founder, Ritch has been appointed president of the Hall of Fame and has assembled a staff of fellow volunteers to complete the hall by its projected opening date of January 15, 2008. The building will be designed by Tightline Kidd and built by Yanieck Mariani. Christine Daffodil will be assisting in writing the SLSA history.

The actual Hall of Fame building and exhibits is offered at no charge to all sims with surfable waves available to the surfers of Second Life. Please IM Ritch Goalpost for more information if you would like a copy of the Hall of Fame placed on your sim.

This year, the following sixteen individuals will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in recognition of their contributions to surfing in Second Life or in honor of their surf performance in the past SLSA surfing season. In future years, the top two surfers in the SLSA final point standings will be inducted, as well as two “at-large” individuals who will be inducted by vote of the previous members of the hall as well as the SLSA Board of Directors.

This year’s inductees are:

Cierra Theriac
Colleen Brennan
Craig Stallion
Flynn Sheridan
Heather Goodliffe
Keala Mimistrobell
Kimmy Fitzgerald
Malcolm Sydney
Poid Mahovlich
Rani Decosta
Ritch Goalpost
Sally LaSalle
Seano Osumi
Sebastian Saramago
Thor Bishop
Tightline Kidd

Induction into the Hall of Fame is open to all SLSA members based on individual accomplishments. Those inducted will have shown themselves to be outstanding in their contribution to the surf community or in surfing performance. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Ritch Goalpost or one of the SLSA directors. Please join us in supporting this effort as we look forward to the opening of the SLSA Hall of Fame in 2008.
